Clinical interests

Vascular and endovascular surgery including new treatments for varicose veins (EVLT, radiofrequency ablation, foam sclerotherapy, cyanoacrylate glue occlusion, and mechanicochemical ablation)

Academic background

Qualified MBChB from the University of Edinburgh in 1985 and awarded his MD in 1994 for research into factors influencing outcomes following bypass grafting in the lower limb. Prior to becoming a Consultant in Cornwall he studied endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) at the University of Sydney, Australia. As an NHS Consultant he has been involved in clinical trials in carotid artery stenosis, amputation surgery and Endovascular aneurysm repair. He has undertaken varicose vein surgery and injection treatments for over 30 years and has written papers and given lectures on aneurysm surgery, amputation surgery, lower limb bypass grafting, and new treatments for varicose veins.
