Am I eligible for NHS treatment?

The NHS treatments available to you depend on where you live. Funding is distributed by region, with each region setting its own criteria for the NHS treatments it provides.

A medical classification system called CEAP is used to categorise the severity of varicose veins. Severity is graded from C1 to C6 with C1 being the most minor and C6 being the most severe. The CEAP classifications eligible for NHS treatment will vary by region. The majority of NHS institutions will only fund treatment for veins in CEAP categories 4 – 6.

To find out how treatment of varicose veins is funded in your region contact your GP.

If your GP determines that your varicose veins are ineligible for NHS treatment, Value Healthcare can provide an affordable alternative.
